"I am sending you a group submission from the nurses who work on Family Maternity Center at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland WA. I participated in the Wrap project: the nurses helped me by saving plastic beverage labels that I made into a crazy quilt. When I read about your new project, I really wanted to involve them more directly in creating the art. Everyday we work with clients as they transition into parenthood. I wanted the nurses to acknowledge themselves as artists, and nursing as a creative act as we care for our patients through both joyful and tragic experiences." - Jennie Turner
-Tyvek is the material. I had the nurses paint, stamp or stencil it with acrylic paint, or use marker, crayon or pastel chalk. I then shrunk the tyvek and sewed on the leaf veining and edges

I cut the basic leaf shapes and the residents and staff all helped each other complete the leaves. "Interdependence" was the key.
