Patches from a very old quilt top, sewn together, stuffed with cotton. Reused vinyl material (was used in classroom, had sandpaper leaves on it, was old, so where going to throw away, students glued various objects from an arts & craft box on the leaves.

I hope she sees and recognizes the orange fabric. She gave me on a recent visit. I made this with recycling in mind – the onion bag and used strapping tape. The theme of interdependence is shown in the weaving. The hand shaped leaf and the use of colorful fabric with purposeful recycled items.”

Green fabric sandwiched with wonder under to a piece of hand-dyed fabric on the back. This was a left over leaf from a realistic wall hanging. I hand made out of a hornet’s Nest surrounded by leaves as if it were hanging from a tree branch. I varied the colors of the leaves in green shades and also had different sizes of oak leaves. Little children have to peer into the hole in the Hornet’s nest to see two little fabric hornets inside the hole.”
