Adriane Ragan

"My leaf reflects important pieces of my life. My heritage & my Daughter. The island of Hawaii call these turtles - Hanu - symbolizing me and my daughter. The word - Ohana - means family - this is my heritage. The hand prints on the other side are Bella's and mine. Along with hands that have truly captured meaning for me since her birth. She is my blessing. She is my world. She gives me the will to keep pushing/fighting for thing to be - be great for her. My daughter is my favorite person. This leaf I decided to from her Mommy. I love you Bella-Bug!!!" 100%Recycled

Title: "Dreaming Gum Leaf"
The motif is an Australian Gum leaf made from vintage embroideries which are backed onto silk. I’ve chosen the embroidered boat in memory of floating leaf boats in the rain-filled gutters of my childhood. It also represents the many people who’ve sought refuge on our shores by way of small and often fragile boats.
